Aluminum acetate Use: Natural dye - mordant recommended for cellulosic fibers: This mordant is widely cited in literature for natural dyeing of cellulosic fibers. It is preferable to alum on these fibers. For cellulosic fibers, we also recommend a first bath of a lightly colored tannin (oak or sumac gallnut, tara) or a tannin that will bring a background color (acacia, myrobalan, chestnut).
